Group 23 was the location of a Late Postclassic (AD 1250-1525) ceremonial group located on a large Preclassic period platform at Tayasal. Excavations in the group, led by Dr. Yuko Shiratori, examined ritual activities and daily life prior to the arrival of the Spaniards.
